Having been active since 2006, the GEΙ Laboratory covers the scientific fields of Intelligent Informatics as well as the fields of GeoInformatics and Environmental Informatics. The main research activities of the Laboratory are focused on Flexible Informatics, Computational Intelligence, Biomedical Signal Processing, Fault Detection in Electro-Mechanical Systems, Geoinformatics and Environmental Informatics, Intelligent Systems, and Personnel and Task Scheduling. At the same time, the Laboratory has participated in the implementation of research and co-financed development projects within the framework of programs, the FP7 Marie-Curie, Erasmus +, INTERREG, South East Europe, IPA Adriatic, Greece-Italy 2007-2014, Greece-Czech Republic, Lifelong Learning , with activities that can be summarized as follows: Design & Development of Advanced Information Systems, Design & Development of Decision Making Systems, Geoinformatics & Environment, Design & Development of Cultural/Tourist Content Display Applications, Innovation & Business, and Education, Training, Training & Consulting. Thanks to the intense activity of its members, the Laboratory managed to develop collaborations with academic institutions, research centers, technological institutions, public and private bodies and organizations and bodies of the industrial sector in Greece, Europe, Russia, China, USA and Canada.
