One of the most beautiful areas of Greece, Arta is a city in the Region of Epirus with a population of 24,427 people. It is the capital of the prefecture of Arta, as well as the second largest city of Epirus.
It is bordered by the Tzoumerka mountain range and the Amvrakikos gulf. Its landscape combines the beauty of the Greek mountains with the shallow beaches of the Amvrakikos gulf and the fertile valley of Arachthos that crosses it.
Arta is built on the ruins of Ancient Amvrakia. It is adorned by its Byzantine churches, its castle, its clock remarkable neoclassical buildings and above all the symbol of the city, for which it is famous, its legendary Bridge based in a haunted soul, its wife Master builder.
There are many cultural clubs, Sports clubs, Open-air theater in the castle, Historical and Folklore Museum, as well as Exhibition Center.
Arta is a very safe and quiet city for the visitor but also for its inhabitants. In the city center, where the famous pedestrian street of Arta is located, there are several choices of clothing, footwear and accessories shops where everyone can find what they are looking for.
In terms of entertainment in the city of Arta, the cafes, taverns, restaurants, as well as its nightclubs, both in the center and on the bridge, are able to offer visitors whatever they ask for and try the raw materials of Arta.
Finally, Arta was the seat of the former TEI of Epirus until September 2018, where it was abolished according to law 4559/3-8-2018.
The Schools and Departments of the former TEI of Epirus joined the University of Ioannina, with the same law.

Specifically, the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications was founded in 1998 and joined the University of Ioannina in 2018 based on article 2 of law 4559. Its main mission is the cultivation of Information Science and Telecommunications, computer systems for processing and transmitting information, as well ad their various applications. Aims to equip students with the basic knowledge and skills of the science it treats, but also with specialized knowledge, so that they acquire a solid scientific basis and can fully meet the growing demands of the professional space.
The Department consists of remarkable and internationally recognized teachers who make the course quite interesting and original, as they are interested and have close communication with every student of the school, trying in every way to help them. In addition, it has three (3) Research Laboratories, which deal with innovative projects related to education and training, enterpreneurship, environment, tourism, culture and health, implemented by the research team of the Laboratory, which consists of professors, postdoctoral students, doctoral candidates, postgraduate and undergraduate students.
In conclusion, it is now known that Arta is a city capable of students, combining security and a good life so that every student can spend unforgettable student years!
