Ioannis Stylios

 

About me


Dr. Ioannis Stylios is a full-time Adjunct Professor at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Ioannina, and at the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, School of Engineering, University of the Aegean, where he teaches in the Master's Programme Information and Communication Systems. He also serves as a Tutor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of the Aegean e-Learning programmes. He is the author of several books and academic textbooks (Publishers: University of Athens, University of the Aegean, Disigma Publications) and has published numerous papers in refereed international and European scientific conferences and in high-impact scientific journals. He has been involved in several national and EU-funded R&D projects (FP-6, HORIZON 2020, Erasmus+, HFRI) in the fields of Information and Communication Technologies, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence.

  •  Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Piraeus, Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Department of Digital Systems (in progress).
  • Doctor of Philosophy - PhD (Unanimously "Excellent" - HFRI Scholarship) from the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering (ICSE), University of the Aegean.
  • Master's Degree (MSc) in Information & Communication Systems Security from the University of the Aegean, Department of ICSE.
  • Master of Education (MEd) in Didactics of Mathematics, Sciences, and ICT in Education: Interdisciplinary Approach, from the Department of Preschool Education and Educational Planning of the University of the Aegean.
  •  Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Communication Informatics & Administration from the University of Ioannina (dit.uoi.gr/alumni).
  •  Bachelor of Science (BSc) in History and Philosophy of Science, School of Science, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (in progress).

Honors and Awards (most recent):

  •  2020: Technology Transfer Plan Funding from the Hellenic Ministry of Labour and the Labour Employment Agency (LEA), for the technology transfer plan of his doctoral research (€12,000).
  • 2019: Scholarship of Excellence for Research, under the act "Supporting Researchers with an Emphasis on Young Researchers - Cycle B", co-financed by the EU (€15,000).
  • 2017: Scholarship of Excellence for Doctoral Dissertation from the HFRI (Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation) (€23,500).

Research Interests: Artificial Intelligence, Machine and Deep Learning, Cybersecurity, Behavioral Biometrics, Continuous Authentication, Mobile Security and Privacy, Internet of Things, Blockchain.
